Glenwood South is basically built for a bar crawl, and on Halloween it does exactly what you'd want. The Raleigh Halloween Bar Crawl runs Saturday October 24, Friday October 30, and Saturday October 31, 2026, at $20 a ticket — eight venues, nearly all of them on the same avenue.
Three Dates, All $20
Saturday, October 24 — the early crawl. Full costume energy, much easier doors.
Friday, October 30 — Halloween eve on Glenwood, which is a genuinely great night out.
Saturday, October 31 — Halloween proper. The whole strip is in costume.
Each ticket covers waived cover charges, free entry to every bar, up to 50% off drink specials, and the contests running across the lineup.
The Raleigh Bar Lineup

Vice Bar — 439 Glenwood Ave

Seven of the eight are on Glenwood Avenue, running from the 200 block up to 610 — roughly a half-mile stretch. Halcyon is one block over on W Jones. The Parlor and Wonderland sit directly across from each other at 222 and 225, and the 400 block gives you Split, Milk and Vice within a few doors.
The official lineup and each venue's hours get emailed the week of the crawl.
What to Wear in Raleigh on Halloween
Raleigh gets one of the best Halloween climates on this list — usually mid-fifties to low sixties after dark. You can actually wear the costume:
No coat required. A real advantage over the northern cities, where half the costume ends up hidden.
Bring a light layer anyway for the walk up Glenwood late in the night.
Shoes for a half-mile strip. Everything's walkable but you'll cover the whole avenue.
Glenwood skews a little polished. A costume with some thought behind it fits the room better than a last-minute one.
How to Do the Night Right
Start low, walk up. Begin at The Parlor and Wonderland on the 200 block and work north — Dogwood at 610 is your natural endpoint.
The 400 block is your regroup point. Split, Milk and Vice within a few doors means it's easy to find people who wandered off.
Get your wristband in the check-in window. No wristband, no entry — one friend can grab the whole group's.
Watch for the digital bar list from info@BarCrawlLIVE.com the week of the crawl.
Park once, near the middle of the strip. Or better, don't drive — Glenwood on Halloween is not a parking situation you want to negotiate.
Why Raleigh Overdelivers
Raleigh punches well above its size on Halloween. Glenwood South is a purpose-built nightlife strip — dense, walkable, and full of bars that actually decorate and lean into the holiday. Eight venues in a half-mile is a great ratio, and unlike the bigger markets you're not fighting a crowd of forty thousand people to get a drink.
The weather is the quiet advantage. In Boston or Chicago, half the Halloween crowd is wearing a winter coat over a costume nobody ever sees. In Raleigh, everyone's actual costume is visible all night, which changes how the whole street feels.
Same weekend nearby: the Charlotte Halloween Bar Crawl is a couple of hours down I-85, and the Nashville Halloween Bar Crawl is worth the drive if you want live music with it.
Costume Ideas That Work in Raleigh
Mid-fifties weather means Raleigh is one of the few cities where the costume you planned is the costume people actually see.
Group Costumes
Detailed themes. No coat means every element of a group costume is visible all night — worth the extra effort here.
Decade and pop culture groups. Glenwood's crowd skews young and catches references instantly.
Coordinated color blocks. Reads clearly across a crowded room at Split or Milk Bar.
If You're Going Solo
This is your chance to wear the ambitious one. Just check it works for a half-mile walk up Glenwood — the strip is the whole crawl, and you'll cover all of it.
